St. Paul, MN – August 7th, 2017 – Today Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) announced a major initiative to update and expand health care clinics throughout the state.

A very generous couple in this community has donated $6.5 million as the lead gift toward our three-year Facilities Expansion Initiative. “This couple has been engaged with Planned Parenthood on so many levels over the past several years,” said Sarah Stoesz, President and CEO of PPMNS.  “They have supported our work, provided critically important advice and counsel and are fierce defenders of making sure women get the health care they need, no matter what.”

This generous lead gift will allow PPMNS to move forward immediately to build a “state of the art” health care facility on the location of the current Planned Parenthood clinic in Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. PPMNS currently serves nearly 13,000 patients in the Uptown clinic and the new facility will allow us to meet the additional demand for our services.

“We are incredibly grateful.” continued Stoesz. “This gift will ensure that the expert reproductive health care that is our hallmark will be provided in a beautiful, welcoming and contemporary Uptown clinic.”

Additional funds raised through the PPMNS Facilities Expansion Initiative will help ensure that all 19 health care clinics throughout our region reflect the most modern standards in health care.  It will also allow us to explore building new clinics in areas that are not currently served by Planned Parenthood.

Our clinics make a powerful statement about Planned Parenthood’s work in each of the communities we serve,” Stoesz continued.  “Those who join hands with us on this initiative will be helping to sustain Planned Parenthood for another 100 years.”
