With or without insurance, you can always visit Planned Parenthood for the care you need, when you need it. Our highly trained staff can answer your questions about insurance coverage, determine if you qualify for reduced or no-cost care, help you enroll in an affordable insurance plan, and more.

What should I bring to my appointment?

To see if you qualify for financial help, you will need:

  • Photo ID
  • Your social security number
  • An estimate of your earnings for the next 12 months

In some cases you may need additional documents. We want to make sure you get the most out of your appointment, so when you schedule, we encourage you to discuss what additional documents may apply to you.

What will my health care visit cost?

The cost of your visit depends on factors like whether you have insurance, your income, what services you’re looking for, what your provider decides is necessary, and the length and complexity of your visit. If you have insurance, many services, like birth control and annual exams, may be covered with no out-of-pocket cost.

Can Planned Parenthood help me find affordable health insurance?

Planned Parenthood staff can answer your insurance questions and help you enroll in an affordable plan. In Minnesota, individuals making less than $33,165 per year may qualify for financial help. Most families of four making less than $67,650 will get financial help. 

 

When can I enroll?

Private insurance enrollment for 2019 has ended, but if you qualify for Medicaid, MinnesotaCare, or have a qualifying life event, can enroll at any time. You can read more about qualifying life events on the official HealthCare.govwebsite.

Where can I enroll?

Some Planned Parenthood clinics offer regular weekly hours for insurance enrollment assistance. We encourage you to call and schedule an appointment to reduce your wait time. You can also schedule a phone appointment for enrollment assistance.
