Low to No-Cost Birth Control

Birth control no matter what.

Whether you have insurance or can't afford the cost of care, you can get the expert, affordable care you need at Planned Parenthood. Find out if you are eligible for low to no-cost birth control and other reproductive care.

No-cost services covered include:

  • Birth control — the pill, the shot, the ring, the IUD, and the implant
  • Family planning education
  • Emergency contraception
  • Annual exam (pelvic and breast exams, Pap smear, blood pressure check and other vital signs)
  • Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) identified during an annual exam

You can enroll if you:

  • Are a Minnesota resident
  • Are a U.S. citizen or (non-citizen eligible to participate in federally funded programs) 
  • Are not pregnant
  • Are not enrolled in Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare, General Assistance Medical Care or another state-funded program
  • Earn no more than the monthly income limits

How to enroll:

  • Book online, or call and schedule an appointment: 1.800.230.PLAN (7526)
  • Download the funding application and fill it out prior to your appointment
  • Bring proof of income: paystub(s) within the last 30 days or letter from your employer verifying your wages.
  • Bring proof of citizenship: a copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID such as a driver's license or college photo ID. Immigration documents are accepted in place of a birth certificate.

If all of your information is in order, your enrollment will be effective immediately.
