The 55th annual Grosse Pointe Holiday Mart kicks off Oct. 18-19 with goodies from nearly 30 stores from across Metro Detroit and the country. You’ll find everything from home decor items to jewelry at this year’s event, which will include stores like Detroit-based Nest, City Bird, Nora, and Hugh.
“Holiday Mart may be more than half a century old, but we still have some new tricks up our sleeve, including a robust roster of new vendors that will offer something really fresh for our longtime shoppers,” said Helen McKnight, Grosse Pointe Holiday Mart chairperson. “We also felt it was very important, during this transformational time in Detroit’s history, to provide a showcase for the outstanding and unique Detroit retailers who are fueling the rebirth of our great city.”
Admission is $5 and payable at the door. Festivities will begin with a special Patron Preview Cocktail Party from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday with cocktails and entertainment; tickets are $75 and available online atholidaymartgrossepointe.com. Proceeds from this year’s mart benefit prenatal care and cancer prevention screenings at Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan.
