We provide quality, compassionate care from an informed-consent model for our transgender patients. We serve transgender people and people at various places on the spectrum of gender identity and expression. We are committed to improving the way transgender people receive health care in our region and we proudly work together with our transgender community to lead the way in eliminating barriers to care.
What services do we offer?
You can now receive gender-affirming hormone therapy (also known as HRT), self-injection trainings, and resources & referrals for transgender-specific medical and legal services, as well as healthcare services in the Mid-Hudson Valley known to be welcoming and affirming of transgender and gender-expansive people.
Transgender patients are of course welcome at PPMHV for other care as well, including well exams, contraception, abortion, and STI screenings. We are building our capacity to provide affirming and inclusive care in all our services for our patients who are transgender. Most insurances, including Medicaid, are accepted.
How do I make an appointment?
Call PPMHV at 845-562-7800 to set up an appointment. You will have a pre-visit phone call reviewing insurance/payment options and answering your preliminary questions. We are here for you!
How much does it cost?
We have billing staff ready to help you figure out costs and payment for this service. Most insurances, including Medicaid, are accepted. We work to keep the cost of our services as affordable as possible. If you are uninsured or do not wish to use your insurance, we may be able to work with you to set up a payment plan.
How old do I have to be to get hormones from PPMHV?
For our gender-affirming hormone services, we see patients 18 and over or age 17 with parental consent. If you are under 17, we can refer you to other Mid-Hudson Valley providers who can give you hormonal care. (Check out the Resource Guide below.)
