Changing Lives- Parent-Child Puberty Workshops
This 2-hour workshop brings caregivers and children together (gender pair groups) to share their feelings about puberty and growing up male/female. Intended for girls/boys aged 9 to 12. This program presents factual information on adolescent sexual development – the physical, emotional, and social changes young people experience. Most importantly, this workshop encourages communication between parents/caregivers and their children*. Programs can be tailored to older age groups.
*Grandparents and other guardians are welcome to participate.
“Table Talk” Parent-Child/Teen Workshops
This 2-hour workshop brings caregivers and youth together to open and build communication and discuss relevant (age appropriate) topics. Workshops are customized to include one hour on communication followed by a workshop on any of the following topics: Sexting, Healthy Relationships, Birth Control Options, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Sexual Orientation.
