PPMI is excited to invite all staff to this special in-person event. This page contains the information you will need to know about the event.

About the retreat

All Wellness Retreat content will be related to your personal wellness journey. The collective wellness of PPMI’s staff members is critical to our ability to serve our clients and meet our ambitious goals. The retreat was designed to be a fun and enriching experience; where staff can explore different wellness principals while connecting with colleagues from across Michigan.

All staff members at PPMI are strongly encouraged to attend the retreat. We understand that some may have scheduling conflicts that prevent travel and attendance at this retreat. This retreat was scheduled in accordance with PPMI’s operational needs and the funder's programing schedule.

Attendance

  • The retreat is the work that is available to staff members on September 24 and 25. As such, if you do not attend the conference, you will be expected to utilize PTO. If you do not have enough PTO or choose not to utilize PTO, the days will be unpaid. 
  • All staff members attending the retreat will be paid their normal work hours for conference attendance. 
  • Hourly staff members who work more hours than their normal schedule (travel time combined with conference attendance) must submit their additional time.
  • Hourly employees will receive compensation for travel time as well as conference attendance. 
  • Please note that evening activities on September 24 will be social and not compensated for hourly staff. 
  • There will not be a virtual option for the retreat.

Travel Policy

  • Hotel accommodation for staff members who live beyond 30 miles from the Kensington Hotel will be provided and paid by PPMI. 
  • Individuals who request lodging will be provided their own room.
  • If you are traveling less than 30 miles, your mileage will be reimbursed from your assigned work location to the Kensington Hotel.
  • If you are traveling more than 30 miles to the retreat, we ask that you carpool with at least one other staff member.
  • Separate accommodations will be made for staff traveling from Marquette.
  • If you need help finding a ride to the retreat, please contact Jim Norton.
  • All meals will be provided at the conference.
  • If you qualify for travel reimbursement, you will submit a separate travel reimbursement for the conference that will need to be submitted by October 4 to Jim Norton. All PPMI travel reimbursement policies will apply.

Social media policy

To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone at the Wellness Retreat, we ask all staff members to keep the details of the event, including its location, private. We believe that maintaining this confidentiality will help create a more relaxed atmosphere for all participants. We appreciate your cooperation in not posting about the retreat on social media or sharing specific information about the event before or during our time together. This policy is in place to protect the privacy of all attendees and to enhance the overall experience.

Registration

Your registration lets us know if you will be attending the retreat, as well as information about your travel and accommodation needs, dietary restrictions, accessibility accommodations, and other details.
