Today, the Supreme Court will rule on Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt—the biggest abortion rights case in decades. If the Court lets the state law stand, thousands of women in Texas will lose their access to safe and legal abortion. The repercussions for abortion rights in America don't end there. A woman's right to access safe, legal abortion is before the Court, and the consequences may spread far beyond Texas.

WHAT: Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC leadership will be available for comment following the decision announcement.

Later this afternoon, PPMW will hold a press conference to discuss how the Supreme Court ruling impacts the DC Metro area. Speakers will react to the decision from medical, legislative, patient, and Planned Parenthood perspectives.

The press conference will be followed by a screening and panel discussion on TRAPPED, a documentary film on the current state of restrictions to access to abortion in America. The film won the United States Documentary Special Jury Award for Social Impact Filmmaking at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
