Your Legacy Will Last

When completing your gift, you’ll have the following designations to choose from (and you can choose more than one):

  1. Where it’s most needed
  2. Sexual & Reproductive Health Access Fund*
  3. Physician Fund* (for physicians who provide abortion care)
  4. Education Fund* (sex ed)
  5. Health Center Improvement Fund*

*These are endowment funds; your initial gift will grow over time while 4% of your gift will be used every year – forever – to support the associated programs or services.

The Perpetual Partner Legacy Society

This special group of donors, with more than 350 members, have included PPMM in their will or trust to help protect the future of sexual and reproductive health care.

As a Perpetual partner, and in acknowledgement of your commitment to our patients, you will be invited to special events and receive exclusive communications. You may remain anonymous by notifying us of your preference

Make Your Will for Free

PPMM is partnering with FreeWill, an online service that allows you to write a free, legal will in minutes. Even if you prefer to work with an attorney, you can still use FreeWill to save time at the lawyer’s office.

Secure your legacy for the people and causes you love today.

Sample Bequest Language

In as little as one sentence, you can complete your gift:

“I give, devise and bequeath to Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Tax ID #94-1583439, now or formerly located at 1691 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126, or its successor thereto, [dollar amount, percentage, percent of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, or description of property] for the benefit of [its general purposes and/or the endowment fund(s) you’d like to contribute to].”

This is merely suggested wording; please consult your attorney or an estate planning professional when preparing legal documents.

Other Popular Giving Options

A will is only one type of planned gift. There are other planned gifts that may save you money on your taxes, generate extra income in exchange for a pledged gift, and otherwise benefit you financially while supporting the causes you love. Below are some examples. Your financial advisor can tell you which of these options will benefit you the most.

This information is for illustrative purposes only, and is not intended as legal or tax advice. For such advice, please consult an attorney or tax advisor. References to tax rates include federal taxes only and are subject to change. State law may further impact your individual results.

Life Insurance

You can gift all or a portion of your life insurance plan by contacting your plan administrator. This may qualify you to enjoy a charitable income tax deduction for your initial donation, and any premiums in the future.

Retirement Plan Assets

You can designate PPMM to receive all or a portion of the balance of what remains in your retirement plan through your plan administrator. This gift will be exempt from federal and state taxes and preserve non-retirement assets for your loved ones.

Securities and Mutual Funds

Donating securities and mutual funds that have risen in value since acquiring them may be donated at full fair market value, while avoiding capital gains taxes on the transfer (which can be as high as 20 percent).

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift of up to $100,000 from your IRA. A QCD is a great way to make tax advantageous contributions, especially if you don’t itemize your deductions.

Life Income Gifts

Life income gifts can provide lifetime payments to you and/or another individual, with the remaining funds passing to PPMM in support of reproductive rights. These gift options include charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and pooled income fund donations.

Real Estate and Tangible Property

Appreciated real estate or other tangible property that you have held longer than one year may qualify you for a federal income tax charitable deduction at the full market value, while eliminating capital gains taxes.
