Register to Vote - Nevada

The upcoming General Election is on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Due to safety concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nevada, all active voters will be mailed ballots that can be completed and then mailed or dropped off in person at county clerk offices.

Registration is open all the way to election day, but if you register to vote after October 20, 2020 you will have to go to your county registrar's or clerk's office to pick up your ballot for voting.

Same-day registration is available during Early Voting and on Election Day.

You can register to vote online at the California Secretary of State's website. Be sure to get your application in at least 15 days prior to the next election.

After you are registered to vote, you can also sign up to vote by mail. Or you can vote in person on election day.

Voting in Nevada

How to Register to Vote in Nevada

You can register to vote by filling out an application online and mailing it to your local elections office.

There are other ways to register in-person, such as at a NV Department of Motor Vehicles office. To learn more about these options, visit the Nevada Secretary of State's web page.

Note: You must be registered to vote 21 days prior to the primary and general elections.

All registered voters receive their Sample Ballots in the mail.

Sample Ballots also include information on:

  • voting by mail,
  • early voting time and locations, and
  • your polling location if you vote on Election Day.
