PPLA’s 20th health center will provide thousands of people with care

Los Angeles, California—In response to the pressing need for reproductive health care services in Los Angeles County, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) is grateful to announce the opening of its 20th health care center in Compton today. Located at 4402 E. Compton Blvd., PPLA’s Compton health center will provide a full range of quality, affordable reproductive health care to thousands of women, men and teens.

With rates of STIs like syphilis and gonorrhea nearly double those of the county[1], as well as rates of teen pregnancy that are significantly higher than the county average[2], PPLA’s Compton Health Center will address the critical unmet need for reproductive and preventive health care in South Los Angeles. Because nearly one in three Compton residents are uninsured[3], this health center will be instrumental in providing quality care and low- to no-cost services.

Among the services PPLA’s Compton Health Center will offer are all methods of birth control,  life-saving cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, PrEP and PEP, pregnancy testing, and abortion.

Since 1965, PPLA has been helping women, men, and teens get the compassionate care they need and deserve. As one of the largest providers of reproductive health care services in LA County, PPLA provided services through more than 250,000 visits at 19 health centers last year. The Compton health center will allow even more Angelenos to get the high-quality care and information they need.

The hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00 pm. Walk-ins welcome! Walk-in hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 2:30pm. Appointments can be made by calling (800) 576-5544 or visiting
