Message from Sue Dunlap, President and CEO
Planned Parenthood Los Angeles
By now, many of you have heard that Rep. Cliff Stearns has launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood’s national office is responding to the request in a timely manner and we are confident that this issue will be resolved without disrupting our ability to provide sexual health care and education to every member of our community who needs us.
Moments like these serve as a reminder that the fight for women’s health care is not over. Across the country, access to reproductive health care is shrinking as states cut funding for Planned Parenthood’s preventive services. And this November, voters in Mississippi will face an initiative that would make all abortion care illegal, even in the extreme cases of rape and incest. This initiative could also ban common birth control methods, prohibit in-vitro fertilization, and subject women who experience miscarriages to criminal investigations.
While these threats are serious, they are also an opportunity for women and men across Los Angeles to come together and make our voices heard. Earlier this year, thousands of you showed your support for Planned Parenthood and it made a difference. Please stand up for reproductive health again, and join us at an upcoming phone bank to help Mississippi defeat this dangerous initiative.
- What: Phone Banks for Mississippi
- When: Thursdays, October 13th, 20th and 27th, and November 3rd from 4pm-7pm
- What: The phone banks start promptly at 4pm with a full training and food. We’ll get you trained and answer all of your questions, and then you’ll make calls in groups.
- RSVP to [email protected]
With your help, Planned Parenthood will always be committed to protecting and expanding access to high-quality, affordable reproductive health care.
