What is the birth control implant?

The birth control implant (AKA Nexplanon) is a tiny, thin rod about the size of a matchstick. The implant releases hormones into your body that prevent you from getting pregnant. A nurse or doctor inserts the implant into your arm and that’s it — you’re protected from pregnancy for up to 4 years. It’s get-it-and-forget-it birth control.

Payment and Insurance Options:

Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles offers our quality services at low to no cost. Fees are determined on a sliding scale based on your income and family size. We accept Medi-Cal and we can help sign you up for FamilyPACT, a California program that covers family planning services. Also, some private insurance plans cover some services at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.
