Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Black Health Initiative

Founded in 2020 by Black leaders and clinical staff in the PPLA community who noted a need for support and care to promote well-being in the Black community in Los Angeles.


Our efforts aim to address health inequities in Black communities by providing high-quality health care and education with culturally specific lens, extending resources, and forming partnerships within the community.


  • Provide workshops on Sexuality, Relationships, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Birth Control, and Stress Management
  • Facilitate meaningful dialogue between community members in our Soul Friends workshop series
    • Topics include: dating, friendships, beauty standards, pleasure, and more
  • Participate in community outreach events and distribute health information and prizes
