Last evening, Monday May 2nda draft opinion was leaked from Justice Samuel Alito regarding the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health anticipated for this summer. It is apparent that the court is prepared to end the constitutional right to abortion—overturning almost 50 years of precedent. This outcome is as dangerous as it is unprecedented and will open the floodgates for states across the country to ban abortion. The court, which is now dominated by Justices who are hostile to our freedoms, has failed this country. We are disheartened, we are furious, and we will fight back.

“The leaked draft opinion is horrifying and devastating and makes clear that our deepest fears are coming true.  But let’s be clear, abortion is still legal.

The consequences of this impending Supreme Court decision will be swift and devastating for communities nationwide: Overturning Roe means 26 states could swiftly move to ban abortion–including 13 states with laws that could immediately go into effect. That means in half the country people will no longer have power over their own bodies and their own lives.

Planned Parenthood Keystone has been preparing for this moment.  Our doors are open, and we will continue to fight to make sure everyone has the power to control their own bodies, lives, and futures.”  said Melissa Reed, Planned Parenthood Keystone President and CEO.

Abortion is still legal and Planned Parenthood Keystone will continue providing care to our patients. If you need to access health care services from our expert providers, make an appointment at ppkeystone.org or call 610-481-0481.
