Today, the Supreme Court granted the stay of mifepristone requested by the Department of Justice allowing the FDA’s approval to remain unchanged. The scrutiny of mifepristone should have never happened in the first place. Mifepristone has been used safely for over 20 years and by over 5 million people. It is, and always has been, safe.

“Mifepristone remains intact and accessible for now. However, this fight is far from over. Anti-abortion extremists will stop at nothing until they have a nationwide abortion ban. Abortion remains safe and legal in Pennsylvania and we are working like hell to expand access in the state.  We’ll continue to show up, as we always do, for our patients and provide the care they deserve,” stated Melissa Reed, President and CEO.

Planned Parenthood Keystone will continue to provide high-quality abortion care for our patients, because we know what the vast majority of Americans know and support: that abortion is necessary and safe healthcare. Everyone should have the ability to make decisions about their bodies, health, and futures, without political interference.
