(Allentown, PA) - Planned Parenthood Keystone (PPKeystone) is making improvements to its Allentown Health Center with support from Representative Mike Schlossberg. PPKeystone received a capital improvement grant, with support from Representative Schlossberg, to make facility upgrades to the Allentown health center. This includes lighting upgrades, cabinetry repair, and medical equipment. PPKeystone’s Allentown health center provides sexual and reproductive health care to over 2,300 patients each year. Nearly half of all patients served in Allentown are uninsured or underinsured.
“We are deeply grateful for the grant and support from Representative Schlossberg, who make it possible for us to provide best-in-class care to our patients in the Lehigh Valley. Our patients deserve facilities that are bright and modern with equipment that supports new, emerging technologies. Rep. Schlossberg’s commitment to sexual and reproductive health care, including the physical facilities that make it a reality, is invaluable.” stated Melissa Reed, President and CEO of PPKeystone.
“World-class health care requires constant attention to the facilities which deliver it. Access to adequate health insurance should not be an obstacle to this care, which is why Planned Parenthood is a critical partner in Pennsylvania. I am pleased we were able to help make the investments in the Allentown health center facilities possible so patients can seek care in a dignified and safe environment.” stated Representative Mike Schlossberg.
