LOUISVILLE – Tonight, following higher than anticipated voter turnout, Tamarra Wieder, Public Affairs and Policy Director at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky (PPAIK) released the following statement.
Statement from Tamarra Wieder, Public Affairs and Policy Director at PPAIK:
“Tonight, I’m deeply proud of Kentucky. There is a growing movement across this state, with abortion access at the center of the conversation. In order for people to be truly free, they must have control over their bodies and their lives. Kentuckians sent a clear message: we don’t support extreme attacks on reproductive health care. With an increased focus on abortion policy in state legislatures, we need elected leaders like Attorney General Andy Beshear to help lead on reproductive rights because progressives are a growing force to be reckoned with and the fight for bodily autonomy is central to our health, our rights, and our freedoms.”
