(Bridgehampton, NY)  - Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) kicked off the summer season with their Annual East End Benefit on Sunday, May 24th at the home of Eileen and Richard Ekstract, publishers Hamptons Cottages & Gardens magazine, in Bridgehampton.

The event, Picnic for Planned Parenthood, attracted more than 200 guests and raised funds to support PPHP medical services, education, and advocacy programs on the East End.

Producer/Director Barry Sonnenfeld and designer Isaac Mizrahi energized the crowd to bid on the silent auction items of one-of-a-kind designer picnic tables and specialty picnic baskets.  The tables were designed by Greg Turpan, Lisa Perry, Jonathan Adler, Ruby Beets, Bjornen Design, Richard Ekstract, and Sylvester & Co, among others.  The baskets were donated by local Hamptons’ businesses including Loaves and Fishes, Green Thumb, Mixed Media, and Jonathan Adler.  Beach blankets designed by Alex Katz, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, and Raymond Pettibon sold out.

For over 75 years, PPHP has provided affordable, confidential, and compassionate care to women, men, and teens.  PPHP works to protect the right to reproductive freedom, and offers education and training programs to improve parent/child communication, peer-to-peer education, and a variety of other community resources.
