Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic elected a new Chair of the Board and four new members.

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) is pleased to announce the election of a new Chair of the Board of Directors, Ann Pogue, and the election of four new members to its board: Susan Chatzky, Maria Fidalgo, Dr. Pearl Lim, and Judith D. Widmann.

Ann Pogue was most recently the Vice Chair of the PPHP Board; previously, she was Board Secretary. Ms. Pogue has also served on the Executive, Fundraising, and Board Development/Nominating committees, and chaired PPHP’s Board Diversity Task Force.  Ms. Pogue has served both nonprofit and for-profit organizations as a marketing consultant, including Nickelodeon, Prime Access Advertising, and American Express.  While at J. Walter Thompson advertising agency, she created and implemented advertising strategies for her clients, and developed in-house recruiting and training initiatives. Ms. Pogue has been a Trustee of the National Public Radio Foundation and of the United Nations International School. She received an A.B. degree in Economics and Communication from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Susan Chatzky was a patient of Planned Parenthood at one time so she is familiar with the importance of its services to the community. She was the co-chair for the Chappaqua school district’s theater department from 2001 to 2010. She has her BA in Elementary Education from CW Post, LIU. Ms. Chatzky is a yoga trainer and has been an active member of the yoga community for the past 22 years.

Maria Fidalgo is a clinical social worker who attended Emmanuel College in Boston resulting in a BA, with a double major in Sociology and Spanish. Based on her education alone, she can assimilate with the Latin/Hispanic community. She graduated from Boston University School of Social Work with her MA, MSW. She has a great deal of fundraising experience and was very active in both the 2008 and 2012 Presidential campaigns, as well as local campaigns in Arizona where she participated in numerous fundraising campaigns for candidates. She has served on the Event Planning Committee for Planned Parenthood Arizona and most recently, Ms. Fidalgo was a Board member of Planned Parenthood Arizona from 2011 to 2012. 

Dr. Pearl Lim is an obstetrician/gynecologist with her own private practice. Dr. Lim has worked with Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Lim is active in the Korean American community and supports the fundraising events for the Korean American Family Service Center that services victims of domestic violence to find shelter, legal status, and job training. Dr. Lim received her MD from Columbia University. 

Judith D. Widmann is on the Board of Trustees for the Katonah Museum of Art. She is a former board member of PCI-Media Impact, a nonprofit organization that produces and relates radio and “telenovelas” in developing countries that deal with health issues, including HIV/AIDS, contraception, women’s rights, and personal responsibility. Ms. Widmann performed over 20,000 prenatal and pediatric counseling sessions in her tenure as a Genetic Counselor at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.
