Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) is pleased to announce three supporters and advocates have been elected to its Board of Directors—Elisa Burns, MD, Lily Cushenbery, PhD, and Johanna Alter Wilson.

Elisa Burns, MD, is an OB/GYN and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at CareMount Medical, PC. She also holds a Clinical Assistant Professorship at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Burns received her BA from Colgate University and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition to her professional practice and teaching, she has considerable board experience, currently a member of the Board of Directors of Neighbor’s Link and the board of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct for New York State, and was a member of a Planned Parenthood medical board.

Lily Cushenbery, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Management at Stony Brook University and the director of the Leadership & Creativity Research Lab. Her work in leadership, innovation, and conflict applies science-based approaches to practical organizational problems. Prior to joining Stony Brook, Dr. Cushenbery was a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the International Center for the Study of Terrorism, where she studied the process of terrorist deradicalization for a grant from the Office of Naval Research. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Penn State University and a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fresno.

Johanna Alter Wilson is returning to the Board after a year off. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Currently, she is the President of Strategic Financial Group, Inc., a multi-state licensed insurance agency. She is securities licensed with WRP Investments, Inc. and is active in providing insurance and investment advice to a multitude of individuals and corporations. Ms. Alter Wilson is a proud active participant in local charities and school-related activities. She was the co-chair for the PPHP Rockland Benefit and the Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee.
