Tulsa area organizations join in support of women’s health
TULSA, OK – The Tulsa community is invited to attend a local rally in support of women’s health and reproductive rights. The rally will be held this Saturday, July 5, from 10 a.m.-Noon on the sidewalk in front of the Hobby Lobby at 51st & Harvard streets in Tulsa.
The rally is being organized by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, Tulsa Interfaith Alliance, Oklahoma Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, All Souls for Reproductive Justice and other like-minded organizations in response to Monday’s Supreme Court ruling that gives employers the power to deny women the new birth control benefits of the Affordable Care Act – allowing bosses to force their personal beliefs on employees.
The rally will be held in support of the needs of Hobby Lobby employees and ALL women to have access to birth control that is right for them. Participants are welcome to bring signs that express their own sentiments about the outrageous ruling, but are asked to not include profanity or other inappropriate content.
For more information about the rally, contact Kate Neary-Pounds at 918.894.9226.
