November 1, 2018 (Iowa City, IA) – Born After Roe (B.A.R.), a group of Planned Parenthood supporters in Eastern Iowa, will host a second annual Sex Trivia night and drag show beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 6 at Studio 13, 13 S Linn St. in Iowa City.

B.A.R., a networking group that formed in 2017, hosts events throughout the year to connect, engage and activate Planned Parenthood supporters in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. The group is partnering with I.C. Kings, a drag performance troupe, to host this second annual benefit.

“People of all genders and sexualities rely on Planned Parenthood for health care and education, and Planned Parenthood relies on the support of our community to keep their doors open,” said Jessalyn Holdcraft, who helps lead B.A.R.’s organizing committee. “B.A.R. is committed to bringing people together who want to make sure our Planned Parenthood stays here, no matter what.”

Trivia categories will include sexual health, reproduction, anatomy, relationships, and related pop culture topics. Participants, who must be at least 19 years old, can compete for prizes as individuals or in teams of up to six people. Trivia will run from 6 to 8 p.m., and a drag performance by the I.C. Kings will follow.

Those who would like to attend can pre-register online for $10 at www.ppheartland.org/events or pay $15 at the door (cash only). All proceeds benefit Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, which provides the full range of reproductive and sexual health services, plus hormone therapy for transgender individuals, at 850 Orchard St. in Iowa City.
