May 13th, 2011 (DES MOINES, IA) – Planned Parenthood of the Heartland is happy to announce plans to open a new health center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The new state of the art facility, which will consolidate the two existing health centers in Lincoln, will be located at 5631 S. 48th Street. The new center will provide a comprehensive range of health care services including cancer screenings, annual exams, birth control, abortion and many other services. It will also house one of the three Education & Resource Centers, a public meeting room and administrative offices.

“The new facility will allow us to expand services and provide quality care for more women, men and families in Lincoln,” said Planned Parenthood of the Heartland CEO and President, Jill June.

Closing on the new building was completed today. The health center is expected to open for clients late this fall.


Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has served women and men of all ages in the Heartland since the 1930s. Today the agency offers a full range of quality reproductive health care services to residents in Nebraska, ninety-two Iowa counties and three counties in Illinois through twenty-four medical centers and Education and Resource Centers located in Des Moines, Lincoln and Omaha.
