At Planned Parenthood, we know that evidence-based sexual education delivered by trained professionals is extremely effective and widely supported. The new Chat/Text program is another way we are furthering our efforts to improve the lives of youth and young adults in Texas and Louisiana.

The Chat/Text program enables individuals to easily contact trained PPGC health educators through text or instant messaging to ask questions about birth control, emergency contraception, sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, pregnancy testing, abortion, and more. Our health educators answer any question related to these topics, and provide medically accurate responses using behavioral theory and communication science to encourage positive health behaviors.

“Thank you so much for all the help, I feel relieved,” one Chat/Texter reported.

Because we believe that all people deserve access to accurate and culturally competent sexual and reproductive health information, Planned Parenthood also recently launched Chatea/Textea, a bilingual resource for Latinx individual’s sexual health questions.

One in 3 Chat/Texters visit a Planned Parenthood health center within 10 days of using the service. We are making a significant difference in the lives of young people in our communities – which would not be possible without donors like you. Thank you.
