Our education team at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is comprised of professional health educators who are committed to improving the lives of youth, parents, and families across our state. We’re excited to invite you to the 2019 Summer Learning Series, which consists of educational workshops designed to fit the specific needs of parents and students ages 12-18.
Whether you’re struggling to figure out how to talk to your child about sex or how to navigate a healthy relationship as a teen, the Summer Learning Series has a workshop for you. Join us at any of the dates below to get age appropriate and medically accurate information that reinforces family values.

Middle school age (12-14)
Kickbacks: How to Deal With Peer Pressure
No one should force you into decisions you’re not comfortable with, not even your friends
Stay informed on what healthy behaviors look like so you can know when to say no
Relationships 101
Know what expectations to set before you start a relationship
Learn about consent and how to ask for it
Identify the difference between friendships and romantic relationships, and how to practice healthy behaviors in each
High school age (15-18)
What Is Sex/Am I Ready? Sexual decision-making
Have you sought enthusiastic consent from your partner?
Have you talked about protection methods?
What do you know about your partner’s sexual boundaries?
These are just a few of the many conversations to have before making the decision to be sexually active
