Planned Parenthood Hosts Annual Fort Worth Luncheon Benefit
For Immediate Release: Feb. 22, 2018
Fundraiser Goal is $400,000 to Support Healthcare and Education in Tarrant County
Fort Worth, TX — Approximately 1,000 community members will attend Planned Parenthood’s SOLD OUT 2018 Annual Fort Worth Luncheon this Friday. The event raises funds for health education and essential healthcare services provided at Planned Parenthood’s health centers, such as contraception (including long acting, reversible contraceptives such as IUDs), sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, HIV testing, annual exams, clinical breast exams, cervical cancer screenings, hormone therapy for transgender patients, and safe, legal abortion.
Last year, a record-setting amount was raised for the Fort Worth Luncheon, and featured healthcare advocate and former first daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush.
The luncheon keynote guest is noted actor and author, Molly Ringwald. Ms. Ringwald is an outspoken advocate of Planned Parenthood and women’s empowerment, recently penning a powerful column for the New Yorker on her own #MeToo experiences as a young actor. She was also one of the original signers of the letter of solidarity for the Time’s Up movement.
Dallas/Fort Worth television icon and longtime Planned Parenthood supporter, Gloria Campos, will lead a conversation with Ms. Ringwald on timely topics related to women’s healthcare.
“More than 85,000 Texans, including women, men, and young people, count on Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas for high-quality healthcare and health education,” said Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas President and CEO Ken Lambrecht, “despite ongoing efforts to block access to our health centers, thanks to outstanding, continued support here in Fort Worth, our doors remain open to everyone who needs us.”
Media are invited to cover the Fort Worth Luncheon. However, captured footage and photography of Ms. Ringwald will be limited to the first three minutes of her appearance on stage. Media credentials are required to enter the event. Contact Autumn Keiser, senior marketing and communications, for details on the event.
Arrangements for the appearance of Molly Ringwald made through HCSB, NY, NY.
