Fort Worth Leader Joins Senior Team

Fort Worth—Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is proud to announce an inaugural Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Dr. Jonathan Johnson.

Dr. Johnson joins from University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) where he served as Assistant Vice President with oversight of the Counseling & Psychological Services, Health Services, Health Education, Campus Recreation, Adaptive Sports, esports, and Student Access & Resource Center.

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Johnson has nurtured inclusive success and retention initiatives in higher education, with a specific expertise in advocating for the matriculation of underrepresented, underserved, and low-income college students. This work includes extensive consultation and collaboration with organizations, non-profits, colleges, and universities on issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, leadership, holistic wellbeing, gender bias, college student identity development, and environmental sustainability.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Educational Counseling & Psychology from the University of Louisville, a Master of Science in Higher Education and Administration from University of Kentucky, and a Bachelor of Science, Technology and Industrial Arts from Berea College in Kentucky. Dr. Johnson is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and holds multiple DEI certifications.

Planned Parenthood is an essential resource for communities across Texas, especially at this important time for reproductive justice.”

Dr. Johnson is based at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas’ Southwest Fort Worth offices.
