Stand up for Texas Communities

For decades, Planned Parenthood has partnered with local governments to provide needed health care, education, and outreach, including cancer screenings, STI testing, and HIV prevention and Zika prevention outreach to at-risk populations. State leaders are, yet again, putting politics ahead of healthcare with SB 22/HB 1929 which would ban local governments from partnerships with Planned Parenthood.

Stand up for Local Control

We need you to stand with Planned Parenthood this week to prevent this dangerous bill from moving forward. Here are ways you can take action and make a difference:

Add your name to our petition to Stop SB 22/HB 1929

More than 30 elected officials from Texas cities representing nearly 11 million Texans added their voices to stop SB 22. Read the letter and thank your local elected for standing with Planned Parenthood.

Share your story of care. Tell state leaders why Planned Parenthood makes a difference in your health.

SHOW UP. Follow Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas and Planned Parenthood Texas Votes on social media for rapid response requests to come to the Capitol to testify, observe, and register your support for healthcare.

Watch to see why Austin patients, healthcare providers, supporters, and advocates care about Planned Parenthood and our impact on the health, education, and reproductive rights of all Texans, no matter what.

How SB22/HB1929 will impact local communities:

Stand Up for East Austin

This bill takes aim at partnerships local governments have with Planned Parenthood, like the City of Austin’s lease agreement that has made our historic East 7th Street health center an essential resource for generations of Austinites.
