Wilson-Domer’s tenure as the new leader of PPGOH and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio will begin July 1, 2023.

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Today, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio (PPGOH) announced that its board of directors has unanimously voted to approve Erica Wilson-Domer as the next president and CEO of PPGOH and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio (PPAO). Wilson-Domer’s tenure will begin Saturday, July 1, 2023.

“I am thrilled and humbled to become Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio’s next President and CEO,” said Wilson-Domer. “This is a critical time for our communities. There is so much at stake, including our reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. It is my honor to take the helm of our crucial organization and work with our powerful team at this pivotal moment in our history while we enhance access to health care, expand our services, and achieve our vision for health equity.”

In this new role, Wilson-Domer will lead PPGOH’s renewed commitment to finding new and creative solutions on how best to deliver services to thousands of Ohioans. Wilson-Domer will support the organization’s coalition-building and public-private partnership activities. This includes working to enshrine abortion access within Ohio’s constitution, as well as identifying opportunities to strengthen access to PPGOH’s health centers and lessen health inequities while bolstering the organization's ability to combat political attacks that threaten Ohioans’ abilities to seek medical care.

Wilson-Domer has been a critical partner and leader with Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio for over two decades. She began her tenure with the organization as a board member for both Planned Parenthood of Stark County and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Ohio, as well as a Community Leadership Council Chair in Stark County. She later joined the organization full-time, ascending from Vice President of Finance to Chief Financial Officer and most recently to Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer.

As Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, her work has strengthened the organization as PPGOH builds an Ohio where everyone can receive the care they need to live empowered, fulfilling, and authentic lives. She led PPGOH’s reinstatement into the Title X funding program, a critical initiative that increased access and improved patient experience, and is committed to improving our health centers’ efficiency to be able to reach as many patients as possible. Her work was central to the reinstatement of PPGOH’s Title X funding following the Trump administration's dangerous gag rule.

“Erica brings an unparalleled knowledge of our organization and Ohio’s political climate as well as an astute strategic vision for the future,” said PPGOH Board Chair Susan Quinn. “Our talented search committee, led by Stephen Keyes, JD, heavily invested in this process to find a superb candidate who could strategically develop our business for the future, enhance its sustainability, lead and support its culture, expand its credibility and gravitas both internally and externally, pursue transformational initiatives, and advocate for and form strategic alliances.”

A graduate of Kent State University, Wilson-Domer earned her B.A. in psychology and M.S. in accounting. Prior to joining PPGOH, she worked within the healthcare sector, including Ohio-based AultCare and Alliance Community Hospital, specifically focused on financial analysis. Serving as the organization’s first Asian American CEO, Wilson-Domer is deeply respected in Ohio and across Planned Parenthood Federation of America for her insights and solution-driven mindset. Her commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion epitomizes Planned Parenthood’s values, and will lead PPGOH into the future.

Earlier this year, current PPGOH and PPAO president and CEO Iris E. Harvey announced her retirement after a twelve year affiliation with the Planned Parenthood, five years as an affiliate board member and seven years leading the organization as CEO. Harvey will continue to serve as the president and CEO through the end of June 2023.

“As I transition into retirement next month, I am confident Erica is ready to lead our crucial organization and powerful team at this pivotal moment in our history,” said Harvey. “Facing attacks to their reproductive freedom and even democracy itself, Ohioans more than ever need leaders who understand what is at stake and are committed to the fight to protect their rights. I know Erica to be that leader.”
