Accessibility Information

Most trainings will be held on the Zoom Platform. Participants are expected to join from individual devices. You can test your connection with Zoom before joining the meeting by visiting Zoom Support.  Our trainings offer multiple ways to engage in activities and we are working to create an accessible experience by: describing images and reading chat contributions aloud; using high contrast, 24+ font on slides; and including alt text for images on any shared materials. We will also enable the automated closed captioning feature on Zoom.

Language interpretation and other accessibility options may be available if requested at least one week in advance. Please contact the training institute with additional access needs.

Our trainings are ideal for professionals, including educators, health care providers, social workers, case managers, youth workers, and more.

The Training Institute is an approved sponsor of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) and an approved sponsor of Continuing Education Contact Hours for New York state licensed Social Workers and Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®). In order to sustain our ability to provide Continuing Education Contact Hours there is a Continuing Education processing fee for those seeking Contact Hours (in addition to the ticket fee).

Reimagining Sex Talks for 2022: You Know, Sex

The Training Institute is excited to share a recording of our conversation with Corey Silverberg and Bianca Laureano.

Cory and Bianca discuss the new book, You Know, Sex, including how it came to be and lessons we can take from the book into our relationships and work with young people.

You Know, Sex is the first thoroughly modern sex education book for every body, covering not only the big three of puberty—hormones, reproduction, and development - but also power, pleasure, and how to be a decent human being. It’s a book for every kind of young person and every kind of family—essential for kids, everyone who knows a kid, and anyone who has ever been a kid.

After watching the recording, parents, caring adults, and providers will:

  • Understand what makes You Know, Sex a distinct and valuable resource for kids and families; and
  • Explore You Know, Sex as a tool for supporting kids and families in understanding their experiences, feelings, and bodies.
