Advocacy Collective Subcommittees
Health Center Advocacy Program (HCAP)
Intentionally center patients and impacted communities in Planned Parenthood’s advocacy and organizing efforts, with the goal of uplifting their voices and experiences in pursuit of federal, state, and local campaigns from within our centers.
Immigration Rights
Advocates to aggressively challenge unlawful immigration detention, secure the rights of immigrant children to be reunited with their families, confront hate and xenophobia, champion local and state immigrant protections, defeat unjust local ordinances, and to ensure immigrant communities know their rights.
Speakers Bureau
A collection of patient and volunteer advocates coached to speak on behalf of PPGNY in various public capacities and to various media outlets.
Political Action Group (PAG)
Advocates that all the people should enjoy equal political rights. Our communities are knowledgeable on their rights and how to participate in the government
LGBTQ+ Justice
Works to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can live openly without discrimination and enjoy equal rights, personal autonomy, and freedom of expression and association.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Advocacy (SRH)
The advocacy of all issues (Comp Sex Ed, Maternal Mortality rates, housing, abortions rights, etc.) that intersect with SRJ particularly centering those communities who are most vulnerable.
Health Center Escorts (HCE)
Works to ensure a safer entry and exit of our health centers for our patients without fear of organized protest, disruption or torment.
Grassroots Fundraising
Leading the AC’s efforts to get as many people as possible to give and strategically get people involved based on our issues/causes. This method encompasses the efforts to reach out to the community being served and gaining connections and resources for PPGNY’s campaigns.
