Parent-Child Communication
Getting Real: Helping Parents and Their Children Communicate about Sex and Growing Up
What's it about?
Did you know that parents play a very influential role with helping their children make healthy decisions about sex and growing up? Open, honest conversations about sex and relationships between parents and children help children make decisions that will keep them healthy and safe. Do you have the knowledge and skills to effectively communicate with your child about sex?
What you'll learn?
Through facilitation and an interactive presentation, participants learn:
- Why many parents/guardians and children find it difficult to communicate with each other about sexual health topics,
- Increase their understanding of why talking about these issues is vital to keeping our children healthy and safe, and
- Gain comfort and confidence in communicating their values and factual information about sexual health topics when talking with children or other family members.
