Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) is honored to announce it received a $35,000 grant from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation through its Access to Health Care Community grant program. This grant will play a pivotal role in supporting approximately 200 under and uninsured patients, ensuring they have greater access to vital reproductive health care services in the Oklahoma City area. Specifically, the funding will be utilized to fill the gaps where Title X funding may not be applicable, allowing PPGP to expand its service provision and maintain a robust safety net for those in need.

With affordable pricing options for all, Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) will host a one-day vasectomy clinic at its Rogers Health Center on April 13, in an effort to expand access to essential reproductive health care services including a highly-effective, permanent form of contraception. The one-day clinic will offer vasectomy procedures at a flat fee of $250, with options for no-cost care for those who qualify – all made possible in part because of the support of generous donors.

Today, Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) is excited to announce it has joined the federal Title X program in Oklahoma, increasing its reach as an essential part of the family planning safety net for the state. At the start of the new year, PPGP was officially granted funding by Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC), which oversees and supports much of the Title X network in the state, to deliver low to no cost, equitable, and high-quality family planning care at its health centers across Oklahoma.

On World Vasectomy Day, which falls every third Friday in November, Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) is announcing expanded free and reduced procedures and appointment availability at its Tulsa and Oklahoma City health centers. Vasectomies are a regular service offered at both clinics, but through generous donations, PPGP is now able to provide more care to patients who qualify at low to no cost.

Today, a Kansas state court judge blocked several onerous restrictions on abortion, including laws that force providers to give government-scripted misinformation to patients, threaten patients’ health, and undermine medical ethics. The laws blocked today also made abortion care harder to access by imposing arbitrary waiting periods that delayed care.

On the first anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe V. Wade – eliminating fifty years of federal protection for the right to safe, legal abortion – Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) persists as a regional care provider. Over the past year, PPGP has worked to protect and expand access in Kansas to meet an overwhelming demand, while fighting for patients in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma who have been stripped of a fundamental right to control their health care.

Today, Kansas abortion providers filed a lawsuit in state court challenging several onerous, harmful restrictions. These laws make abortion care harder to access by creating delays and forcing providers to relay inaccurate, misleading information that threatens patients’ health and undermines medical ethics. One such restriction—scheduled to take effect July 1—forces providers to falsely tell their patients that a medication abortion can be “reversed,” an unproven claim not based on medicine or science. That law was enacted by state legislators soon after the Governor vetoed the measure and eight months after Kansans overwhelmingly rejected efforts to eliminate the fundamental right to abortion under the state constitution.

Today, the Oklahoma Supreme Court struck down two citizen-enforced abortion bans mirroring Texas’ S.B. 8. The two copycat bans were passed in 2022 before Roe v. Wade was overturned. While abortion remains largely unavailable in Oklahoma and the state’s pre-Roe ban remains in effect, today’s ruling ensures that Oklahoma's vigilante bans cannot hold doctors back from providing life-saving care.

Today, a Missouri court again blocked Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s unprecedented use of an emergency rule to prohibit gender-affirming care for people of all ages. The court in its ruling found there is an immediate and real risk of harm if the rule were to go into effect – both to patients needing care and providers who offer these critical services. This comes just days after the court ordered a temporary stay of the egregious regulations only hours before the rule would have prevented many Missourians from accessing life-saving care.
