Why is this happening?
We know this is upsetting, and we are deeply saddened by the state’s actions. For the last several years, we have been fighting in court for our patients’ right to access health care at the provider of their choice. Unfortunately, the state of Missouri has again taken steps to remove Planned Parenthood from its Medicaid program.
Doesn’t this happen every year in Missouri? I’ve never had to stop receiving Medicaid covered care before…
We understand this could be confusing, and we know it’s frustrating that political attacks are impacting your health care at Planned Parenthood. Your ability to get the care you need should never depend on what happens in court. Health care is a human right, and Planned Parenthood will continue to do everything we can to prevent politicians from infringing on that right. We believe everyone should be able to access health care at the provider they choose, and we are sorry the state’s actions are preventing you from getting care with us at this time.
I have Medicaid, where can I go?
If you need to find another provider in the Medicaid program here are your options:
- Contact the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card
- Visit the MO HealthNet Provider Search
- Review these sources:
If I don’t use my Medicaid, can I still get care here?
Yes! Many of the services we previously provided to patients through the Medicaid program, like birth control and STI testing and treatment, qualify for financial assistance through the Title X program. We also have private grant funding for certain services.

Contact Your Elected Officials
Tell your Missouri elected officials that health care is a human right. Patients should be able to choose their own provider, and Missourians need more access to health care — not less.
