The last week has been a reminder for people all across the United States that no matter what we look like, where we live, or what's in our wallets, at our core, we’re all just human. With the structures of our lives radically changing in order to follow the guidance of the Center for Disease Control and our local governments, most of us are feeling the impact of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. If you’re not sure what the next couple of months are going to look like, know that you’re not alone.
One thing we do know: our doors are staying open. For many of our patients, seeking care is time sensitive. Whether it’s an appointment for STI testing and treatment, hormone therapy, or abortion care, we will continue to provide the services that are still much needed. Though it feels like the world is on pause right now, our lives are still carrying on, and so should Planned Parenthood’s care.
We will continue to operate with the safety and well-being of our patients at the forefront of our decision-making. We’ve taken several precautionary steps to significantly reduce the risk of exposure to the virus in our facilities. Those steps have included an increase in our sanitation practices, reducing the number of staff members that report in-person to the clinic every day, limiting our operating hours, and following all guidance from the CDC and WHO.
Care is so much more than the services we provide. It’s also how we show up for each other and how we respond in these moments of crisis. In uncertain times like this, we’re in it together. You can schedule an appointment with any of our health centers online or by calling 1.800.230.PLAN.
To help our ensure we can continue to provide vital care to patients, consider making a donation if you have the means to do so.
