Important Changes to Free and Low Cost Services

The Trump Administration forced Planned Parenthood out of Title X. Our doors stay open, but we are no longer able to offer health care to all patients at no cost. 

What is Title X?

(pronounced “Title Ten”) 
Established by Congress in 1970, the Title X program provides affordable birth control and reproductive health care to people with low incomes, including those who couldn’t otherwise afford health care services on their own. 

In August of 2019, Planned Parenthood was forced out of the Title X program because we refused to comply with the harmful and dangerous gag rule that forces providers to withhold abortion information from their patients. We won’t lie to our patients or keep them from getting the care they need.

Can I still get care at Planned Parenthood?

We’re working to make sure that all Planned Parenthood patients can still get the health care they need. We encourage you to use health insurance if you have it or Medicaid if you’re eligible. If you don’t have insurance or Medicaid, you can pay out-of-pocket.

For patients in Alaska, Hawai'i, and Idaho we’re offering a prompt pay discount of 40% on some of our services, if you’re able to pay at the time of your visit. Or you can set up a monthly payment plan and receive a 10% discount. 

Patients with low incomes in Washington state can still have all or part of their care covered by a state program that is similar to Title X.

What if I don’t have money or insurance to pay for health care? 

If you don’t have the money to pay for your health care, you can apply for financial assistance at our health centers during your appointment. To help us determine your financial assistance, we'll need to provide information about the size of your household. For example, family members who are related to you by birth, marriage, or adoption and who live together. You'll also need to provide proof of income. For example, paystubs, bank statements, forms related to unemployment compensation, or a written signed statement describing your financial situation and income. We're here to help and our staff can answer your questions during your appointment. Unfortunately, our ability to provide financial assistance is limited. We cannot guarantee you will qualify.
