Planned Parenthood Now Offering Primary Care Services

SEATTLE – Today, we are pleased to announce that a select number of our health centers in Washington state and Idaho will provide new primary care services. As of September 1, we are providing primary care services at our Seattle, Eastside-Bellevue, Federal Way, Lynnwood and Boise health centers. Primary care will be available for high blood pressure, low thyroid, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, asthma and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux).

“People tend to have preconceived notions about Planned Parenthood, so we are pleased to bring these services to our health centers to complement the quality reproductive and sexual health care we already provide,” said Chris Charbonneau, CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands. “With these new service offerings, we are able to offer more comprehensive care to the women and men who rely on us.”

Additional services for acute conditions include sinus infections, eye infections, earaches, sore throats, mouth sores, colds, coughs, hay fever or seasonal allergies, gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and skin conditions such as eczema.

With these new services, Planned Parenthood has the ability to contribute significantly in advancing the goals of providing better health care, improving community health, and reducing costs. By offering a range of services, we are able to ensure that women and men remain connected to these crucial services and maintain access to a continuum of care throughout their life.

Our providers are dedicated to delivering expert reproductive and sexual health care and now will provide patients with the opportunity to maintain optimal health, especially when it comes to patient centered care – where people can access all of the care they need in one place.

This is an exciting next step for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands. You can see more about our expanded services here: https://youtu.be/lEFQEinyK4o
