A Louisville Courier-Journal contributor, and board chair of PPINK, Kim Greene takes a closer look at the state of reproductive freedom, reproductive rights, racial equity, and the fight for LGBTQ rights on a monthly basis in her monthly column.
Her February piece highlights the slew of bills in Kentucky that are threatening all the above.
Green writes: “When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped up President Trump's State of the Union speech, the remarkable moment triggered a thought: If only this were a solution for the laundry list of bad bills pending in the Kentucky General Assembly.
Trump’s friends in Kentucky are introducing and passing legislation with a hollow promise to protect constituents. In fact, these bills would actually shame, stigmatize and endanger many Kentuckians. And, ironically, all of these efforts are being led by so-called conservatives who regularly insist that government is too big and should stay out of our personal lives.”

I am pleased to report that since Planned Parenthood has been granted its provisional license to perform abortion in Kentucky, (which was January 31 of this year), abortion services officially resumed at the Louisville Health Center in March.
