Abortion is a safe and legal way to end pregnancy. There are two kinds of abortion in the U.S. — in-clinic abortion and the abortion pill. Some Planned Parenthood health centers provide one or both kinds of abortion.

Abortion is very common: About 25% of U.S. women will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old.

The decision to have an abortion is very personal, and only you can decide what’s best for you. But we’re here to help answer whatever questions you may have, and make sure you get the care you need.

Get care

Planned Parenthood of Delaware has compassionate, professional staff who can give you accurate information, non-judgmental support, and expert health care — no matter what you decide to do about your pregnancy.

We offer services in:

  • Abortion referral

  • Abortion pill (medical abortion)

  • In-clinic abortion procedures

  • Sedation options

  • Post-abortion follow-up exams (which may include, pregnancy test, ultrasound if indicated, and referrals for social issues if indicated)

  • Other abortion services

If you’re under 18, some states require you to tell your parent or guardian that you’re getting an abortion or to obtain their permission to have an abortion. In Delaware, parental notification is required for those younger than 16. However, minors may be able to ask a judge to excuse them from these requirements. I heard the Supreme Court is banning abortion. What does this mean? Can I get an abortion in Delaware?

While the Supreme Court of the United States in June issued an opinion enabling states to prohibit abortion entirely if they wish, Delaware has protected access. You have the right to obtain an abortion here. Learn more.
