Dear PPAZ Community,

The PPAZ Board of Directors wants to follow up on the announcement from Bryan Howard that he is wrapping up his time with PPAZ. We want to lift up that Bryan has served PPAZ for over 23 years and been a part of the Planned Parenthood family for a total of 36 years. As a board, we celebrate this long tenure of commitment to the organization and to the larger movement. Bryan leaves behind an organization that grew from two affiliates into one Planned Parenthood Arizona, and positioned PPAZ to co-lead the development of a multi-affiliate integrated health network. We are grateful for his years of dedicated service and for the opportunity to work with him as a board.

The Board is pleased to share that Samantha Pullen, Vice-President of Finance, has agreed to serve as PPAZ’s interim CEO while we conduct a search for a longer term interim CEO.

Samantha stepped into the CEO role on October 30th in tandem with Bryan’s last day as President and CEO. Samantha has been with PPAZ for almost 2 years and came to PPAZ from Valley of the Sun United Way where she worked for 6 years and served as their Finance Director. Samantha is deeply passionate about our shared mission and we have full confidence that our organization will grow under her leadership and through this transition. We appreciate you welcoming Samantha into this interim role.

The Board of Directors is beginning a search to engage an interim CEO for a 12-18 month period, and we will conduct this search centering the wisdom and expertise of our staff and community partners.

We will continue to share updates on our progress, including opportunities to be a part of the conversation.

In This Together,

Angela, Carminia & Xanthia and the members of the PPAZ Board of Directors
