PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX, Ariz – For the first time in three decades, Planned Parenthood Arizona is developing a new state headquarters and flagship health center in Phoenix.

After selling its location at 5651 N. 7th Street, construction is underway at a new facility in Phoenix that will be finished in the summer. The organization is redeveloping a 1960s office building, combining the responsible reuse of a mid-century modern structure with updated technology and efficiency. The new health center will be larger and incorporates best practices for improving the quality and comfort of patients’ health care experience.

“We began contemplating this project almost a decade ago and the merger of the Tucson- and Phoenix-based Planned Parenthood organizations in 2007 only re-emphasized the need,” says Bryan Howard, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona. “Everything came together when the North 7th Street area surrounding our headquarters began to see a boom in redevelopment and there were parties interested in our property.”

“We would like to thank our supporters who helped us acquire our well-used headquarters 30 years ago, and to the thousand more who donated to Planned Parenthood Arizona’s capital fundraising efforts in order to make this move a reality,” continues Howard.

Planned Parenthood Arizona provides life-saving cancer screenings, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, birth control, exams for women and men, vaccines, HIV and pregnancy tests and much more.

Planned Parenthood Arizona wants the move to be seamless for its patients and supporters; questions regarding health care, advocacy or education, as well as appointments for services at other Phoenix-area health centers, can all be answered at 602.277.PLAN (7526). Information can always be found online at www.ppaz.org
