FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX –Today, Bryan Howard, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona, marks 30 years with the health care organization.

Howard joined Planned Parenthood in 1984 at the affiliate in Chicago, Ill. He was there for 12 years, working in every area of the organization – communications, marketing, education, finance, development, human resources, medical services and public policy.

In 1997, Howard was appointed president of Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona, the predecessor to today’s Planned Parenthood Arizona, Inc., which serves the entire state of Arizona. He is also president of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona, the statewide voter and candidate education organization.

“It has been a privilege and honor and, to be honest, a joy to work for an organization that has, through family planning, unquestionably expanded the life options for women and improved the health and well being of our children,” says Howard. “I have spent 30 years working side by side with amazing professionals, volunteers and community leaders who have an unwavering commitment to an incredibly vital mission. I look forward to many more years with Planned Parenthood, as we pave a way for young people to have bright and healthy futures.”

Howard has served on numerous national, regional and local boards and commissions during his career. He is currently a Board member and officer for RH Reality Check, the national daily online publication providing news, commentary and analysis on sexual and reproductive health and justice issues. He also serves on the Chancellor’s Advisory Council of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Previously, he provided leadership on the boards of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Washington D.C. Reproductive Health Technologies Project, Equality Arizona, Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago and others with a focus on reproductive health care and LGBTQ issues.
