PLANNED PARENTHOOD ARIZONA OPENS NEW GLENDALE HEALTH CENTER
PHOENIX – On Tuesday, June 8, Planned Parenthood Arizona will open the doors to its Glendale Health Center, the newest addition to its health centers statewide. The 6,600 square-foot, state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly medical facility will serve the needs of a variety of patients, especially those in the West Valley.
All of Planned Parenthood Arizona’s health services will be offered at the new health center, including family planning, breast cancer screenings, well-woman exams, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and information about sexual health and prevention. The opening of the health center is the result of a multi-year capital campaign conducted by the organization in order to provide community-centered facilities where the public can receive high quality reproductive health care, access to sexuality education information, and hold community meetings or trainings.
“We have been in the Glendale community for more than 30 years,” says Bryan Howard, CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona. “With this new location, we will be able to offer more to the community. Prevention and staying educated are the two things that can help individuals have a lifetime of health.”
Planned Parenthood Arizona chose to put its newest health center in the rapidly growing Greater Glendale Community to serve as a hub location for central and west Phoenix communities. A part of the health care community in Arizona for 75 years, Planned Parenthood has provided vital prevention services to millions of women and men.
“We hope this new health center will enable more women to get their annual check-up, more men to be tested for sexually transmitted infections, and give more parents the tools to have open, honest and more balanced sexuality conversations with their children.”
