my boyfriend is wanting to go farther then i am willing to go,he keeps trying to pressure me into it.i feel thats all he wants to do.he says things like “i just want to show my love to you” and everything else but im just not ready, idk what to do

Only you can decide when you’re ready to have sex, and no one should feel pressured to do anything sexual that they’re not comfortable with. Communication is key in relationships, and your partner needs to respect your feelings about sex. So it’s important that you communicate your feelings with your boyfriend. This can be hard to do, especially if you feel like your boyfriend might not care about your feelings.

If you have told your boyfriend about your feelings and he keeps pressuring you, it may be time to re-evaluate your relationship. The question is this: do you want to be with someone who does not respect your feelings about what you want to do?

If you haven’t yet told your boyfriend about your feelings, plan to do it at a quiet, private time that is not in the heat of the moment. You can rehearse in front of a mirror what you want to say and how you want to say it.

Your boyfriend needs to understand that sex is only one of many ways that people can show their love for one another. You and he can show each other that you care by supporting one another, solving problems together, and helping each other grow. If that is not enough for him, it may be time to move on.
