I havent had a period in six months…im not pregnant i have had multiple pregnancy tests done and they all came back negative. i have a history of irregular periods…im hoping theres nothing wrong with me and im wondering if i could be infertal. im also 16 years old…whats wrong with me?

Irregular periods are very common, especially for teens. The menstrual cycle can be as short as 21 days or longer than 35. For most girls, it’s between 25 and 30 days long. Changes from month to month are also normal.

Your health can affect how often you get your period. Too much exercise or very strict dieting, for example, can use up all your body fat. You might not have periods if that happens. Stress can make a difference, too.

Your local Planned Parenthood health center can help you figure out exactly why you’re not getting your period.
