Is it okay to drink alcohol on the Depo shot, or will it decrease the effectiveness of the shot?
Alcohol doesn’t change the effectiveness of hormonal birth control methods like the shot. But mixing alcohol or other drugs and sex can sometimes lead to decisions you wouldn’t make while sober (like not using condoms to protect yourself from STDs). And alcohol can affect someone’s ability to consent to sex. So it’s best to save sex for sober times.
