Someone asked us: I'm a man and when I masturbate I like to play with my butthole is that normal

Totally normal. People of all genders like touching their anus (butthole) — after all, everyone’s body has one. The anus has many sensitive nerve endings, so plenty of people get sexual pleasure from playing with it.

Parts of your body that give you sexual pleasure are called erogenous zones. These are places — like your neck, breasts, or butt — that can make someone feel aroused when they’re touched. Any part of your body can be an erogenous zone. Not everyone’s erogenous zones are the same, but the anus is a super common one!

Sometimes masturbation can feel taboo, but it’s very common and almost everyone does it at one point or another — even if they don’t talk about it. It’s actually a healthy, safe way to explore your body and learn what you like sexually. Masturbation can even have health benefits, like relieving stress.

Just like our bodies are uniquely ours, so is the way we may (or may not) masturbate. Pleasure is personal, and it’s completely normal to masturbate in your own way.
