I want and i’m ready to have sex but the problem is that my penis curves to the left and I don’t want to be embarrassed about it when I finally do have sex. What should I do?

You’re not alone — one of the biggest concerns for many teens (and many adults, too) is the size and shape of their penis. Many guys want to know whether the size or shape of their penis is normal. The answer is that everyone is different.

It’s very normal for a guy to have curvature to his penis. Generally, it’s caused by a plaque or scar forming inside of the penis that pulls the entire shaft to curve to the side or in a downward direction. The curve may stem from a complication during circumcision, and sometimes it’s from different kinds of trauma to erectile tissue in the penis during an erection. Unless it’s causing painful erections or other sexual problems, there’s no reason to do anything about penile curvature.

There’s no reason to be embarrassed about your penis. Being sexual with another person is about a lot more than the size and shape of our sex organs or penetration with a penis. It’s about exploring the many ways someone can turn a partner on — and be turned on, too. Sex partners should treat each other as equals who are honest. Someone who makes fun of us for how we look is probably not someone we want as a partner in the first place.
