Im on the nuva ring but left my ring inside my vagina for 4 extra days ..what will happen now? should i be worried that i will get pregnant?

It’s unlikely. In general, the vaginal ring is most effective if you use it as directed by inserting and removing it at the correct times. However, many women make a mistake at one time or another while using the ring. If you realize you’ve left the ring in up to four weeks after its insertion, remove it and take a ring-free week. After that, insert a new ring.

If you’ve left the ring in for longer than four weeks, you don’t need to take a ring-free week. You can start right away with a new ring. You’ll need to use a back-up form of birth control with the new ring for seven days. If you’ve left the ring in for more than four weeks and you’ve had vaginal intercourse more than four weeks after its insertion, you may want to take a pregnancy test.
